Really!?!?
I found out the other day that Rojkind an architect had decided to take the money offered to develop a proposal and then threw it out the window spent it on creating something to declare his opposition to the brief... In other words: "i will rip you of the tax-payers money, get paid because after all, i am a business man, to say that you should not use that money for frivolous things". Isn't that in the end just as frivolous and stupid as what he was asked to do?
If you are against something, and want to do a proposal to demonstrate there is a better way, do it for free. If they are going to pay you for it, don't be a whore, and turn down the fee. If you think there are better ways of using that money [as your proposal seems to state], why not lead through example and donate the money for charity? Isn't taking the money and then proposing the most expensive building in return with no true value added except that of making a tantrum rant the same thing as that which you are "rebelling" against?
This is one clear case of double speak. A syndrome of loser region four architects. Dear mr. Rojkind architects, if you want to make a real stand, here are some quick proposals, iam sure that if you put your creativity into it, you can come up with some more.
Want the government to start a social housing competition? Start one by gathering your influences yourself!
Want to tell mr. Slim what to do with his money? Start by doing so yourself!
Do you hate the current projects for social housing? Do a lot of them, for free!
Think the minimum wage is so little compared to what CEO's make? Show them by doubling or tripling your staff's salary and benefits!
My point is mr. Rojkind architects, put YOUR money where YOUR mouth is, instead of ours.
HAVE FUN!!!
